My first company for developing games.
Purrody Games is my first company, opened in 2013 so I could make games. Initially I wanted to make parody games with cats. Then I found out that parody is a fine line legally, and I'm not a lawyer so I should probably find something less risky to start. Ironically my first playable project is Aetheria, an educational meditation game without cats, or parody.
Aetheria was my first VR project, derived from two game jams I participated in and an interest in bettering the world through games. Aetheria provides a place to learn and practice meditation in a virtual environment. I really wanted to focus on giving people tools that they could use in everyday life, and not just in the virtual environment. Eventually, I wanted a module based system that people could subscribe to or just select modules they would use and enjoy. I still work on this and other ideas for Purrody, including: Scratch Out!!! - a cat fighting game, Immusi - a wearable audio game for your phone, and Super Furry Neon Cat Heads for AltCtrlGDC 2017.
